Artist based in London, UK

Artist Biography

I'm Ella Rodgers, a fine art graduate currently residing in London, UK. My creative practice refers to women and their bodies, in particular the ways in which women are viewed in popular culture – as objectified beings seen for consumption. I make art about these things as they are all things that have had an effect on myself and many other people close to me.

Artist Statement

Developing my research relating to women and their bodies, I currently create sculptural art linking the relationship between food and women’s bodies in order for viewers to reconsider the way in which our society looks at the feminine form. My work refers to commonly shared experiences of women, such as periods and cat-calling, and although my work deals with serious topics, I bring them to light in a fun, empowering way.
